This one brings back memories of my student days. Sidney Sussex College had an Engineer's boat for the bumps while I was there. We had a great time and I still have the oar of the set we won from five bumps in the 1966 lent bumps. Jesus Lock is a few yards up-river from the boathouses, and certainly back then, its collection of primulas was as much a joy to see as those in Clare Fellows' Garden.
